The Time To Win may have been the third one to the lead in the Thursday evening featured pace but she was the first one to the wire at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Hurricane Hill guarded the rail in the $2,300 event before releasing Collective Wisdom to the lead past the eighth pole. Marc Campbell then right-lined The Time To Win hard from the three-hole and cleared to the front in a :27.4 first quarter. Campbell kept the pedal down to the half in :56.2 then grabbed a third quarter breather to reach that station in 1:27.2. Collective Wisdom launched one more assault up the passing lane but The Time To Win held on for a 1:56 victory to give her three straight wins in as many starts since joining the Bo Ford Stable. Collective Wisdom was second while Temagami Seelster (Brodie MacPhee) was third.
Shirley Weeks of Fredericton owns the winning pacer.
Freddie won the $2,400 Open trot as part of a driving quadruple for Campbell. Time of the mile was 1:57.2 for owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.
Campbell’s other wins were a 1:56.2 score in Race 5 aboard Clever Thing for trainer Kyle Wilkie of Charlottetown and in the finale with Much Adoo as the final part of a training triple for the Ron Matheson stable in 1:56.2.
Barrieau was hot on the Thursday program making five trips to the winner’s circle. The New Brunswick reinsman started the action off in Race 2 as What A Babe scored in 1:59 for trainer Todd Walsh. Ill Tell Me Ma had a narrow score in Race 4 for Barrieau and trainer Scott Dunn in 1:56.3 followed by a Race 6 score aboard Labero in 1:58.4 for conditioner Randy Van Meer. IC True Grit won by open lengths in 1:56.3 in Race 7 for Barrieau and Matheson while that combination also won with Lean On Who in 1:56.1 in Race 10.
