Painted Desert took top honours in the Sunday afternoon (October 15) feature at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway, while a quartet of drivers dominated the afternoon card.
The Prince County oval played host to 12 dashes, with all but one race won by one of four reinsmen. Corey MacPherson captured the $2,200 feature with Painted Desert in a time of 1:56.3 for trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Perry Burke. Machinthesand (Ken Murphy) was second, with Rash B Havior (Norris Rogers) finishing third.
The win was one of four on the day for MacPherson. His other wins on the program came with Minor Wisdom in a 1:58.1 score for owner-trainer Kristina McCourt, Positive Art in a 25-1 upset in 1:58 for Bing Easter, and Delightful Nights in 2:01 for trainer Blaine McKenna.
Norris Rogers had three wins on the afternoon card, including Sporty B Skipalong in 2:01.2 and Goodmorning Ky in 1:59.1, both for trainer Frank Banks, and Allstar Seelster in a 1:57 score for owner-trainer Ed Harvey.
Drivers Dale Spence and Kenny Arsenault both had driving doubles on the program.
