Seven speedsters squared off in Monday’s $15,000 Preferred Pace at Western Fair Raceway, and Machal Jackson was too much for the competition to handle in the featured tilt.

Sent off as the 4-5 choice, Machal Jackson mixed it up with Royal Outlook to the quarter pole in a :28-second clip before being released to the position of command. Pilot JR Plante and Machal Jackson then tore through middle panels of :56.4 and 1:25.3 before sealing the deal by three lengths thanks to a final quarter stepped in :29.3. Mach It Big survived a first-over trip to finish second, with Just Crowned coming on strong in the late stages to finish third.

Isaac Waxman trains the four-year-old son of Mach Three-Warrawee Cammy for owners Brenda Selwyn Waxman of Dundas and Yin Yee Wong of Oakville, ON. The victory was the pacer’s seventh of the season and the 11th of his career. The lion’s share of the purse lifted his overall earnings to $439,116.
