Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will host two eliminations for the Maritime Breeders Stakes on Saturday.

First-race post time is set for 7:00 p.m. The first $1,500 elim holds an 8:20 p.m. post, while the second split will go to post at 8:50 p.m.

Stakes stars Scarlet Patti, Southview Sam and Porter will square off in Race 6. Darryl MacLean will drive Scarlett Patti, a winner of over $20,000 this season, from Post 5, while Terry Gallant will handle Southview Sam for trainer Thane Mann from Post 2. The three-year-old Southview Farms filly won her last start in Truro. Porter, a another stakes performer out of the Tom Weatherbie stable that was a close second in the recent Lady Slipper Stakes, will get the services of Kenny Arsenault from Post 3. Miss Toria Ridge, Rustico Nicky, Glencove Umay and Keiths Daisy will complete the roster.

Diamond Mine, co-owned by Cindy MacDonald, Montague, and Tanya MacKinnon, Souris, is the morning line favourite in the second elim. Corey MacPherson will try to get the filly off the gate after a miscue in her last outing caused her to finish a distance sixth. The same could be said for Rustico Tapdancer. If the Meadowagogo filly stays flat then she could take a major share of the purse and move on to the Blair Andrew Memorial Final next week. Joey Pineau will handle the driving duties for trainer John Pineau and his co-owners Myron Ford and Sharon MacLeod. Unstoppable Image and Ron Gass are also listed as top three contenders. The line-up also includes K Ys Sno Meadow, Glencove UPEI, AC Jocker, West River Ugo and Murray M.
