Patience proved key in the featured dash Sunday afternoon (Oct. 14) at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway, as Pictonian Storm stalked from fourth before passing all of his rivals.

Fast N Victorious was sent to the early lead in the $2,200 featured event by driver Corey MacPherson and proceeded to carve out fractions of :27.2 and :56.2 while Pictonian Storm laid fourth on the rail. The three-quarters was reached in 1:27 with Woodmere Ideal Art (Driven by Stephen Trites) first-over and engaging Fast N Victorious. Pictonian Storm emerged from the crowd in the stretch drive to defeat his rivals in 1:58.3. Second went to Mando Fun (Ken Murphy) and Fast N Victorious hung on for third.
Driver David Dowling continued his grip on the Summerside driving standings with three wins on the program. The Warren Grove pilot started the program off with a narrow score with Inspector Murdoch in 2:01 for trainer Blaine McKenna of Summerside, then followed it up with a 1:57.4 romp aboard Flash In The Pang for Pat Murphy of Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. WC Kenzie Cookie supplied Dowling with another trip to the winner’s circle in the Cecil Stewart Memorial after a 2:00.3 win for trainer Devon Wallace of Alberton, P.E.I.
Dale Spence also had three wins on the card, including a 2:01.1 score with Blu Meadow Willie for Brenda and Morgan MacInnis of Summerside, a 2:02 win with Kant Katch Kaiden from his own stable, and 1:59.1 win with Coasttocoastshark for Jeff Wallace of Alberton, P.E.I.
Salmonier Storm and trainer-driver Ambyr Campbell hit the winner’s circle in the $1,800 Leon Stewart Memorial pace in a 1:59.4 for owner Brian MacPhee of Clyde River, P.E.I.
