Four $30,000 late closer finals for New York-breds will highlight Vernon Downs' 12-race Friday night card.
In the final for two-year old trotting fillies, Dreamy Dawn has been given the nod as the 5-2 morning line favourite for trainer Ed Lohmeyer and driver Chris Lems.
Dreamy Dawn is coming into the final off of an easy victory in the $50,000 Fall Harvest Stakes at Yonkers Raceway on October 2. The daughter of Dream Vacation–Divine EOS sports a career record of six wins and one second from nine starts. She took her mark of 1:59 at Batavia Downs in a New York Sire Stakes event.
All About Kisses has been assessed as the 5-2 morning line favourite for the $30,000 final for the two-year old pacing fillies. The daughter of Pro Bono Best–Cheerful Outlook came first-over in her last start (the $50,000 Fall Harvest at Yonkers Raceway). She had stuck a head in front, but tired in the stretch and finished fifth. Chuck Connor, Jr. will do the driving for his wife, Jannice Connor, who trains and co-owns the filly with Albert and Michelle Crawford of New York.
Vernon Downs will kick off its weekend of racing on Thursday, October 14 with a first-race post time of 6:55 p.m.
