Winning races is something Tiempo Hanover has mastered the art of this season, and his Tuesday triumph in the $9,000 Open at Century Downs makes it 10-for-19 on the season for the photogenic pacer.

Tiempo Hanover powered to the lead from Post 1 for trainer/driver Brandon Campbell, who then chopped out fractions of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:23.4 before using a :29.2 closing panel to win by a pair of lengths over Outlaw Gunsablazin in 1:53.1. Taking home third prize in the five-horse affair was Crackle N Burn.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, the six-year-old son of Western Ideal-Tempest Blue Chip has racked up close to $40,000 this season and more than $140,000 to date. Dana Shore, Peter Chanak and Jodi Loftus own the campaigner who found himself residing in the $6,000 claiming ranks earlier this season.

The victory was one of six driving victories on the card for Campbell. He also clicked with I Ama Rocket (1:55.3), Amysterytome (1:57.1), Uchasemikissm (1:58.2), Ima Momas Boy (1:57.3) and Chase The Ace (1:56.1).

Also noteworthy from the Tuesday matinee was the training triple celebrated by David Kelly.

He rallied West Central Beach to a 1:59.4 score in Race 5 to get things rolling, and he answered with wins in Race 6 with Past Affair (1:56.3) and Race 8 with Strange Dragon (1:58.4).

The Strathmore, Alberta horseman is just three wins shy from matching last year’s career-best win total of 51. A career winner of 206 races, Kelly is just shy of $80,000 from surpassing $1 million in lifetime earnings.
