Woodbine Mohawk Park hosted a short five-race qualifying session this week on Tuesday morning (Oct. 12).
Two-year-old pacing gelding Kolby Two Step headlined the morning session with a seven-length romp in the opener. With Doug McNair aboard, he set fractions of :28.4, :58.1 and 1:26.3 en route to the 1:54.3 score. The unraced Betting Line colt Katies Bet and one-time winner Latest Attraction followed in second and third.
Kolby Two Step has amassed a six-figure bankroll through his first five starts for trainer Tim Gillespie, who also co-owns with Jason Churchill of Colborne, Ont. The Betterthancheddar-Dancing Heart gelding has earned three wins, including an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series event mid-August, and ranks fifth in the point standings for the division.
