Trainer/driver Paul Langille put the pedal to the metal early with Well Did in Monday afternoon’s $2,000 main event at Truro Raceway, and the veteran pacer didn’t disappoint the army of backers that made him the odds-on favourite in the featured affair.

Sent off at odd of 4-5, Well Did took full advantage of the pole position by blasting to the lead and slicing out fractions of :28.1, :57.4 and 1:27 before using a :28.3 closing quarter to seal the deal. He held on to win by three-quarters of a length over Daddy Let Me Drive in 1:55.3. Distinctiv Rusty was third.

Well Did Horse Owners Club of Lower Onslow, NS owns the nine-year-old son of Well Said-Marnie Hall. The gelding has racked up a 3-4-2 record from 17 trips to the track this season. The 37-time winner has banked over $170,000 to date.
