Ash Larue Upsets In Harrington Open

Jeff and David Clark and Vernon Cannon’s Ash Larue was a longshot winner of Tuesday’s featured $22,000 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway

Ash Larue, a five-year-old daughter of Artiscape, enjoyed a three-hole trip throughout the mile for driver George Dennis while pacesetter No Bad Luck (Montrell Teague) threw down fractions of :27.3, :56 and 1:24.1. Dennis shot up the inside in the late stages of the mile with Ash Larue, and the mare got up to win by head over No Bad Luck and Ireneonthemove (Mike Cole) in 1:53.

It was the fifth win of the year for Ash Larue, who is trained by Jeff Clark. Sent off as the longest shot in the field, Ash Larue returned $33.80.

Meanwhile driver Corey Callahan and trainer Dylan Davis each had three winners on the program.
