A total of six $20,000 divisions of the first leg for pacers in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for two-year-old pacers were held Monday at
Harrington Raceway for pacers.
Badlands Racing, George Teague, Elmer Fannin and H. Dorfman’s Delmarvalous was the fastest winner thanks to his 1:55.1 performance for driver Corey Callahan. The Teague-trainee is now 4-for-7 lifetime after pacing by pacesetter Amazing Quest in deep stretch for the win.
It was one of three wins in DSBF action on the night for Teague, who also trained and co-owns fillies Model Legs (1:55.1) and VIP Stable and Dennis Polimeni’s Naughty Indeed (1:58.1). Ben Stafford and Ben Stafford, Jr.’s Top Land (1:58) was the remaining filly divisional winner. Top Land was trained by Ben Stafford.
Julianne Watkins and J&E Stable’s Cool Runnings (1:58.2) and Joann Looney-King’s Enee Weenie And Me (1:56.3) were upset winners in their colt divisions.
The second leg of DSBF action for pacers will be contested Monday October 19, while the $100,000 finals for both gaits will be raced on October 26 as part of a super stakes card that will also field the Bobby Quillen Memorial Final.
