Buckys Angel In Autumn Series Blowout

Trainer-driver Wayne Mac Lean moved Buckys Angel to the top and only separated himself from the competition, strolling to an open-length score in the $8,500 first preliminary of the Autumn Series on Saturday (Oct. 10) at Flamboro Downs.

Leaving from post 3, Buckys Angel grabbed command from Downtothehonkytonk heading to a :30.1 opening quarter. By this station, Willywin lost stride while All The Trimmins, Blogmaster and Justacruising had lost stride earlier in the mile. Buckys Angel led the field still on their feet to a 1:00.4 half and began to extend his lead to three-quarters in 1:30.2. Through the stretch Buckys Angel continued to expand his lead, hitting the finish in 2:00.1 in front of Downtothehonkytonk by 11-and-a-quarter lengths. Warrawee Viking finished third another 11 lengths behind.

A homebred two-year-old Archangel colt for Jocelyne Menard, Buckys Angel won his third race from seven starts, earning $11,930. He paid $9.20 to win.

Odds-on choice Gab In Motion scored in the other division of the Autumn Series, stopping the clock in 2:02.

Gab In Motion settled in sixth while Halliday Dream sped from post 7 to the lead moving to a :30.1 opening quarter. Driver Scott Coulter pulled Gab In Motion off the pegs from sixth passing a 1:01 half and rushed towards the leader moving to three-quarters in 1:31.4. Gab In Motion overtook Halliday Dream heading into the final turn and opened his lead approaching the beam, finishing two-and-three-quarter in front of GQ Magic closing for second. Halliday Dream took third.

A three-year-old Archangel gelding owned by Hutt Racing Stable, Gab In Motion won his third race from nine starts, earning $11,105. Tony O’Sullivan trains the $2.40 winner.
