Wink N Win opened the Marquis Downs meet finale on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 10), winning the Open Handicap Pace.
Leaving from post three in the $2,950 five-horse feature, Wink N Win out-sprinted Therealgoods for the lead early on and repelled the challenge from Appoggiatura for the 1:58.4 one-length victory over that rival. Therealgoods finished third.
Daryl Thiessen drove the four-year-old Wink N Atcha gelding to his third victory of the meet for trainer Kevin Sampson and owner/breeder Nancy Tamblyn of Castor, Alta. A seven-time winner overall, Wink N Win has earned $35,099 lifetime.
