DSBF Two-Year-old Races Underway

Four $20,000 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) stakes for trotters were contested Sunday at Harrington Raceway

Nanticoke Racing and Jim Morand’s Overnight Command, sired by Cr Commando, took the first division for fillies with a first-over win in 2:06 for trainer Les Givens. He was driven by co-owner Morand. In the second division, Serendipity Stable’s Political Starlet (Ross Shand) was a wire-to-wire winner in 2:04.3. Trained by Tui Stone, the winner was sired by Political Briefing.

Meanwhile, the first division for trotting colts was taken by Legacy Racing of Delaware, Sharon White and Blake Baker’s First Captain (Ross Wolfenden), who prevailed in 2:05.3. The Cr Commando-gelding was trained by Wayne Givens.

In the remaining division, Carlo Poliseno’s All Clear was a wire-to-wire winner in 2:07.1. Trained and driven by Poliseno, the winner was sired by CR Commando.

The pacing colts and fillies will be in action during the Monday, October 11 card of harness racing and the $100,000 finals will be raced on October 25.
