Speedy stakes winner Whichwaytothebeach made his four-year-old debut in impressive fashion on Saturday (Jan. 8) at The Meadowlands.

With Scott Zeron at the controls for his first qualifier of 2022, Whichwaytothebeach made every call a winning one with an open length romp in what could be one of his final appearances for trainer Brett Pelling. After fractions of :27.4, :56.2 and 1:24.2, the afterburners were engaged and after a :27.1 final stanza Whichwaytothebeach was seven lengths better than Stop Staring (Mark MacDonald) with the mile timed in 1:51.3.

Whichwaytothebeach (Somebeachsomewhere - Swinging Beauty) posted a 8-4-4 summary from 19 sophomore starts and banked $463,457 for Pelling and owners Alan Johnston of Syracuse, N.Y. and John Craig of North York, Ont. The speedster is set to be auctioned off in the 2021 Tattersalls Winter Mixed Sale, taking place on Monday, Jan. 17 at The Meadowlands.
