The Manitoba Harness Racing Industry announced the nominees for its 2017 year-end honours.
Nominees for six categories were released - for Claimer of the Year, nominees are Hf Zeligs Glory, Lovethatsixpack, and Red Star Tiger. For Mare of the Year, nominated are Apple Blossom Time, Lissie Borden, and Lovethatsixpack. For Horse of the Year, nominated are Full Moon Dodger, Hf Zeligs Glory, and Red Star Tiger. For Owner of the Year, nominated are Janet Rey, Mike Williams, and Sheila Anness. For the See Me Go Award of Sportsmanship, nominated are Dennis Chappellaz, Kevin Hildebrandt, and Tyler Grundy. And for Horseperson of the Year, nominated are Clayton Braybrook, Don Anness, Don Howlett, Richard Rey, and Trevor Williams.
The winners of these awards, as well as awards for Top Trainer, Top Driver, Caretaker of the Year, Rising Star, Top-Manitoba Breds, and the Ron Waples Award, will all be announced at the annual awards banquet on Saturday, February 24 in Miami, Manitoba. To RSVP, contact Ann Fillion at 204-712-5149.
