Do Me Honor blazed to the lead from post eight, held off a serious third-quarter challenge from the favourite and went on to capture Monday afternoon’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
After a 30.1 second-quarter breather, Do Me Honor faced the uncovered bid of 1-2 (as part of an entry) N Y Yankees. But the five-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right dug in for Aaron Merriman and prevailed in 1:52.3. The pocket-sitting Tremor Hanover was second for her fourth consecutive race, while N Y Yankees saved show.
Bill Bercury trains and owns Do Me Honor, who now boasts career earnings of $233,454. Mike Wilder drove three winners on the 15-race card.
