My Holy Moley checked off a few boxes after he won a $14,000 division in the second leg of a Pop-Up Series on Monday, Jan. 6 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With the win, the Connie Chisholm student proved a mild upset, winning over two first-leg winners, posted the fastest time of the second leg winners, and gave Tyler Borth a double in the series for the evening.

The Pop-Up Series for trotters featured non-winners of $30,000, fillies and mares $37,500, in 2024 in a minimum of 15 starts. Also eligible were non-winners of $1,500, fillies and mares $1,875, per start in 2024.

Off at odds of 6-1 with post five to contend with, Borth wasted little time in gearing My Holy Moley up out of the gate. Coming Fashion (James MacDonald) was also swift out of the gate from post six and he succeeded in claiming the pacesetter responsibility. My Holy Moley tracked in second through splits in :28, :57.4 and 1:27.3. Around the final turn, Borth and My Holy Moley made their move as they sprinted away to a 4-3/4-length triumph in 1:56.3. Coming Fashion was second while the two opening leg winners, Kenogami Coco (Bob McClure) and Delcrest Brent (Steven Hudon), finished third and fourth, respectively.

My Holy Moley ($14.10) is a six-year-old Royalty For Life-Cassadaga gelding owned by breeders Connie and David Chisholm. He made his first start of 2025 a winning one, adding to a career score of nine wins in 82 starts with $103,889 banked.

Borth doubled up in series victories as he also won with Heavy Dude E ($4.90) in an earlier division on the card.

Also a post five starter, Borth and Heavy Dude E rocketed out of the gate and to the top. The Natalie Elliott student was caught on the outside at the quarter in :28, but quickly gained pylon position on the lead. He set the half in :58.2 and three-quarters in 1:28.2. Overcoming broken equipment, Heavy Dude E prevailed by a half length in 1:58.3 over a blanket finish at the light. P L Quinella (Brett MacDonald) was second with Hey Ralphie (Dagfin Henriksen) third.

Heavy Dude E (Holiday Road-Marclif Aisalinda) is a seven-year-old gelding owned by Elliott. He earned his 26th career win from 133 starts, moving his bankroll to $208,572.

The first division of the series on Monday was won by No Angel Like Me ($5.20), driven by Scott Coulter for Candice Morel.

No Angel Like Me took back to sixth, trailing nine lengths off the leading Cool Clifford (Travis Cullen) at the :28.2 quarter. Coulter moved the Morel student to the outside before the :58.1 half and found the cover of Cellular (Bob McClure) en route to the 1:27.3 three-quarters. No Angel Like Me zipped through the field, gained control and never looked back as she won by 3-1/4 lengths in 1:57.1. Cellular was second over Cool Clifford.

The five-year-old daughter of Archangel-Bistrobistro Taj is owned by breeder and trainer Candice Morel. No Angel Like Me grabbed her eighth career win in 65 starts and now has career earnings of $114,124.

The $30,000 Pop-Up Series final will be contested next Monday, Jan. 13.
