Plainridge Adds New Grand Circuit Races

Plainridge Park Casino, in conjunction with the Harness Horseman's Association of New England, has announced two new stops on their Grand Circuit schedule for 2022: a pair of early closing open events for three-year-old pacers and trotters.

The Paul Revere Pace is scheduled for Thursday, April 28 with the Battle of Bunker Hill Trot slated the following month on Monday, May 16. Both new races carry an estimated purse of $100,000.

While there are no separate filly divisions for these races, fillies can be made eligible to both events. Both events will be raced in divisions depending on the number of entrants for each race.

Thanks to the continued support of the Race Horse Development Fund, local horsemen and women of the HHANE, and Plainridge Park, Massachusetts harness racing is experiencing a renaissance. These two races are an exciting addition to an already robust race meet planned for 2022. These additional Grand Circuit races will bring national attention to the quality racing product in Massachusetts while also providing national exposure to the very talented local horses as well as horsemen and women.

The Hambletonian Society will handle advertising and servicing of these events for the 2022 season.

The payment schedule and starting fees for both races are as follows:

February 15 - $300
March 15 - $300
Starting Fee - $200

Nominators with any questions can contact The Hambletonian Society office at 609-371-2211.
