It was a last-to-first sweep for Fashion Showdown in Tuesday’s $20,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Dover Downs, and that was music to the ears of longshot lovers.

The Craig Mc Innis trainee, who was sent off at odds of 35-1, got away seventh for driver Ross Wolfenden before inching closer to the leaders throughout the mile. Elliesjet N led the field through fractions of :25.3, :54.3 and 1:23.1 in her quest to repeat in the class, but she faded late. Fashion Showdown wound up third-over in the middle stages of the mile, but she fired home in :27.4 to post the head decision over Scandalicious in 1:51.3. Shine N Shimmer was a bang-up third.

The six-year-old daughter of Village Jolt-Catch The Show came into her 2016 debut following a solid 2015 campaign that saw her go 11-for-31. The 15-time winner has banked $165,405 for owner Chris White of Millsboro, Delaware.
