Jessesjo worked out a comfortable half, then brooked no challenges late as he drew off to his third straight victory in Thursday’s $22,500 Preferred Handicap Trot
at The Meadows.
Vaulting to the lead from post eight, Jessesjo and Dave Palone threw on the brakes to get the opening half in :59.1. The five-year-old Jailhouse Jesse-Boston Blaze gelding romped home to score in 1:57.2 over a sloppy surface. Kandor Hanover, the lone mare in the field, closed well for second, while the pocket-sitting Heza Challenger saved show.
Ron Burke trains Jessesjo, who has won 10 of his last 23 starts, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Palone and Burke teamed for three winners on the 15-race card.
