The push for expanding gaming in Illinois was to continue Monday, January 3 with a scheduled vote by a House committee, but, according to the legislation's chief sponsor, there has been a delay.

An article by pantagraph.com has cited state Rep. Lou Lang as saying that more closed-door talks are needed for the bill, which has already won approval in the Senate.

“We are going to continue to work on it,” Lang was quoted as saying.

The bill must be acted on by the House by Wednesday, January 12.
