Clinton Raceway's 2024 season of live harness racing will get underway on Sunday, May 19. The unofficial kick off to summer jump starts the 15-week season with racing each Sunday afternoon (excluding June 2) through Labour Day.
Highlights of the season will include the track's signature event, the Kin Pace on July 7, the ninth annual Vic Hayter Trot on July 21 and the fan favourite Wiener Dog races on July 28.
Most notably on the calendar is the return of harness racing legends to the Southern Ontario oval. The bi-ennial, Legends Day fundraiser for the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation will feature some of the sport's most accomplished Hall of Fame drivers. Since its inception in 2001, with the support of racing fans from all across the country, the event has helped the rural community of Clinton, Ont. raise more than $310,000 for its public hospital foundation.
“It really is a cause that we can all get behind,” said Jessica Carnochan, Marketing Manager at Clinton Raceway. “At one point or another, we have all relied on and will continue to rely on our local community hospital.”
While the official lineup and event details are still being confirmed, it’s a guarantee fans will see another fantastic edition of the signature event.
