Per Henriksen mapped out a perfect trip for Euro Classic in Tuesday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 for trotters at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and the veteran gelding parlayed it into a narrow score.
Leaving from the pole position, Euro Classic gained the pocket behind Delcrest Massy who fired through fractions of :28, :59 and 1:28.3. Henriksen launched a late attack with Euro Classic, who used a :30.3 closing quarter to prevail by a neck over Delcrest Massy in 1:59.3. Allies Gift swung off cover to grab the show dough in the seven-horse affair.
Sent off at odds of 8-5, Euro Classic notched the win for co-owner/trainer Ann Karin Larsen and partners Tor Jan Larsen and Odd Larsen. The nine-year-old son of Chocolatier-Donven Fury is now a 30-time winner who boasts purse earnings in excess of $200,000.
