Inside assignee Victom As and driver Stuart Sowerby got away third in Tuesday's featured race as second choice Logans Hero (Jason Brewer) and early leader Cadillac Kid (Mark Pezzarello) crossed over in front of the heavy 3-5 favourite during a :30.1 opening panel.

Victom As launched a first over attack shortly after the first quarter mark and advanced to command past the 1:02 half. He hit the three-quarter pole in 1:31 and opened up two and a half lengths on top while Logans Hero began to roll.

Logans Hero dropped in behind Victom As entering the stretch as the leading trotter began to drift out towards the center of the track. However, Victom As managed to find the wire just in time for the 2:02.1 triumph. Logans Hero missed by just a neck up the inside. Chewey (Robert Shepherd) finished three and a half lengths behind in third after getting a second over tow.

Victom As paid $3.40 to win. John Drennan owns and trains the five-year-old Striking Sahbra-Next Victom gelding, who earned his first victory this year from three starts. The lion's share of the purse pushed his career bankroll to $171,610.
