Trotslikethewind did just that Monday at The Meadows, capturing the $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot in 1:55.2, equalling the fastest mile this year by an older mare on a five-eighths-mile track.

Parked the opening quarter, Trotslikethewind tolerated no challenges once she reached the front, getting the back half in a sparkling :56.4 for Tony Hall. She downed Allthatnabagofchip by two lengths while Peggys Laughter was a ground-saving third.

Andy Rickert owns and trains Trotslikethewind, a seven-year-old daughter of Pegasus Spur-Familiar Goal who extended her career bankroll to $172,490.

Eric Ledford, Dave Palone and Hall each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
