Ready Cash fended off a determined Maharajah en route to capturing Sunday’s Prix D’Amerique in a mile rate of 1:56 at Vincennes Racetrack
.
Handled by Franck Nivard, the six-year-old French trotter tracked cover before sprinting off the helmet he was following and then went toe-to-toe with the front-stepping Maharajah. Ready Cash forged to the lead just as the field entered the stretch, and he dug in late to fend off a late bid from a resurgent Maharajah, who finished three-quarters of a length in arrears of the winner. Rounding out the top five finishers were Olga Du Biwetz, Oyonnax and Quaker Jet.
Ready Cash, who was recently moved to the stable of trainer Thierry Duvaldestin, is owned by Phillipe Allaire.
