Glengate Farms
Glengate Farms of Campbellville, ON., is known for its ability to turn out top notch yearlings year after year.
In addition to formerly being one of the top nurseries in Ontario, Glengate Farms was also a leader in education, teaching fellow breeders about new technological advances in the breeding world. A world-class facility, Glengate was always on the cutting edge of the science of breeding.
2008 was a stellar year with the top sophomore standout pacer Art Official leading all Glengate-bred horses with earnings in excess of $1.5 million. Dangerous Waters was another top performer, earning $125,910.
In 2008, Glengate Farms horses had 118 starts who had 299 wins and earnings of over $4 million.
Robert Hamather
Robert Hamather has been quietly but successfully making his mark in the breeding game. His broodmare band is comprised of a select few mares he has acquired as well as some of his homebreds which have been integrated into the breeding program.
Based out of Exeter, ON, Robert Hamather is often on hand at Ontario Sires Stakes events to watch his horses in action and can frequently be found in the winner's circle at racetracks across Ontario.
Several of his starters earned upwards of over $100,000 last season. Some of the standouts were Tigerama ($348,000) Unique Legacy ($215,128), Wholly Louy ($150,250) and Legal Litigator ($131,237). With Hamather's 23 starters reaching the winner's circle 79 times and bringing in over $1.3 million in earnings Robert Hamather is doing something right to post some productive numbers.
