Shadow Me Themoney, sent postward at odds of 9-1, held off his Preferred 3 rivals to complete a wire-to-wire performance in Friday night's featured pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Shadow Me TheMoney prevailed in a blanket finish after using his inside post position to establish the lead early on and then set fractions of :27.3, :57.4 and 1:27.1.
A first-up Levis Day and the tracking Mr Mach Jimmy finished less than a length behind in second and third, while pocket-pursuer Easton Beach nabbed fourth in the passing lane just ahead of the favoured Blue Moose, who rallied wide off cover and had come within a head of the winner turning for home.
Shadow Me TheMoney returned $20.50 to win. J Harris drove the eight-year-old Shadow Play gelding in the $8,500 Preferred 3 for trainer Terry Gallant and owner Calvin Kuepfer of Millbank, Ont.
Coming off an eight-win campaign, Shadow Me TheMoney now boasts 23 victories over the course of his career and $115,141 in purse earnings.
