Trot Insider has learned that longtime Newfoundland horseman Patrick Hayes has passed.
Patrick is predeceased by his father Thomas; mother Marcella; brother Bob; brothers-in-law Ron Brewer and Bill Antle; and sisters-in-law Daphne and Coleen Antle.
Leaving to mourn with many warm memories his wife of 31 years Mary “Maude”; children Emily and Gillian; siblings: Tom (Judy), Betty (Ron, deceased), Sue (Eric), Dave (Roseanne), John (Daphne, deceased), Chris, Steve, Debbie (Billy) and Rose (Doug); sister-in-law Jackie (Bob, deceased); friends from the harness racing community; hunting buddies; co-workers from Keith’s; as well as an abundance of extended family and so many friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday, Jan. 4 between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday January 5 from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, Jan. 6 from St. Kevin’s Parish at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Southlands. Flowers are greatly appreciated, or donations can be made to one of many causes that we’re close to Pat’s heart: Beagle Paws, Rainbow Riders or Neveah’s Lemonade Stand.
