Despite cooler winter weather, the betting windows at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows have been heating up, with parimutuel handle topping $3 million in a three-card span.

More than $950,000 was wagered on 13 races on Saturday’s card, while Wednesday’s 13-race program totalled $1,098,011 in handle, one of the highest amounts for a non-stakes card in track history. Thursday’s 12 races ended with over $987,000 in the pools.

“I can’t thank our bettors enough,” said Michael Carter, Director of Racing. “They have really been supportive of our races so far in 2026. It’s been a total team effort, and none of it could be done without the support of our horse owners, trainers and drivers. Winter weather has been a little rough this year, but they’ve been filling the entry box and helping us to offer some quality races for the bettors.”

With a 25-1 winner in the final race of the afternoon on Thursday, the Pentafecta was not hit, resulting in a carryover of $4,808. In cooperation with the USTA’s Strategic Wagering Program and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, a $20,000 guaranteed pool will be offered on Friday in the Pentafecta, carded as the ninth race. Post time for the first race on Friday is 12:45 p.m.
