On Friday, January 28 at Cal-Expo, the Victoria Desomer-trained and Lemoyne Svendsen-steered Big Baller recorded a three-quarters of one length victory in 1:58.4 in Race 2, a $4,500 event filled with conditioned and claimers trotters.
In what was a five-horse field, Big Baller, a four-year-old Panama Hanover gelding, started from Post 4 and was second through splits of :28.4, 1:00 and 1:30.3 before kicked home to win via a 28-second final quarter.
Live racing continues at Cal-Expo on Saturday, January 29 at 6:00 p.m. (PST). On Saturdays, Cal-Expo offers a reduced 15 per cent takeout rate on both the Early Pick-4 (Races 4-7) and Late Pick-4 (Races 11-14). Both Pick-4s having a $10,000 gross-guaranteed pool.
