Wolf Named Chairman Of Greater Pompano Beach Chamber Of Commerce

The Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced that Steven Wolf has been chosen as the new Chairman of the Board for the 2009 calendar year

.

Wolf, 53, is the Senior Director of Racing Operations at the Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park and has been employed at the facility since 2000. Mr. Wolf has 30 years of administrative, marketing and publicity experience in the pari-mutuel horse racing and casino industry. He has served on the Pompano Beach Chamber’s board of director for eight years.

Wolf has been involved in community service throughout his career. He has chaired the Chamber’s public relations and fund raising committees. He is a past president of the Florida and New Jersey Chapters of the United States Harness Writers Association and past president of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

He is a 1974 graduate of Hunterdon Central High School and attended Temple University’s School of Journalism. Mr. Wolf is the son of long time Raritan Township residents, Ruth and Manny Wolf.

“I take great pride and am honoured to have been appointed to this position,” Wolf said. “Our Board of Directors is dedicated to moving forward despite being in a recession in helping established businesses to grow, new businesses to come to our community and promoting the greater Pompano Beach market as a major tourist destination area. I look forward to the many exciting events that we host and sponsor that will help our area to grow and prosper.”

The Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce is composed of nearly 600 companies in south Florida representing more than 20,000 employees. The chamber and its committees focus on issues such as education, public affairs and economic development in the greater Pompano Beach area.

The Chamber membership originated and worked to develop the Holiday Boat Parade, Seafood Festival, Fishing Rodeo, Fine Food & Wine Festival, Business to Business Expo, CEO Round Table Meetings and most recently its monthly free Shameless Self Promotion Seminars.

Wolf resides with his wife, Stephanie, and sons, Philip (22) and Ryan (13), in Coral Springs, Florida.
