Phone Terror followed the first-over cover of Certified Ideal, then brushed by her in the lane to capture Monday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Certified Ideal worked hard to wrest the lead from Foxy Lady, setting the stage for Phone Terror’s rally. The five-year-old daughter of Western Terror-Miss Lex scored in 1:56 on a “slow” track for Peter Wrenn and owner/trainer Robert Barnard. Certified Ideal was 3-3/4 lengths back in second while Ladystar found late racing room for show. Phone Terror now has banked $237,807 in her career.
Dave Palone drove four winners and Mike Wilder three on the 15-race card while Tyler Stillings was a double threat — three training wins and a driving victory.
