According to a report, instead of rebuilding Barn 16 at Ohio's Lebanon Raceway, which burned to the ground in a deadly December 5, 2009 blaze, the Warren County Fair Board has suggested another alternative
.
An article by the Dayton Daily News explains that on Thursday, January 21, the board recommended that two smaller barns be built.
The article cites fair board president Ron Hurtt as saying that building two smaller, stall-less, 6,400-square-foot barns may be a solution to providing a new facility that could be used for various horse show events as well as inside storage during the winter.
“With racing being what it is, we’re thinking about the future,” said Hurtt, who went on to say, “... is it the right plan? Our board thinks it is.”
