Pans O Silver Wins CDPEC Feature

Pans O Silver and driver Brian MacPhee won the Saturday afternoon feature race in 1:59.3 at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. Porthill Alf, with trainer Duane MacEachern at the controls, was second while Rustleinthevines and Kenny Murphy grabbed third to complete the triactor. The winning payout was $147.10.

Pans O Silver, owned and trained by Alex MacPhee of Cornwall, P.E.I burst off the gate and took control of the field laying down fractions of :29.1, 59.3 and 1:28.4 before cruising home to deliver as the post time favorite.

Hunters Green was able to hold off all competitors in the stretch to win the Michael McKenna Memorial in 2:04.3. Kenny Arsenault did the driving for owner-trainer Kevin MacLean of Vernon Bridge, P.E.I.

Nows Whos Laughing, with Vince Poulton in the bike, won the back-up class for owners Gary Poulton and Gail MacDonald of Charlottetown, P.E.I. while Kung Pao Chic took the trot division for Gary Chappell and owner-trainer Charles Symes of Springhill, N.S.

Racing returns on Saturday, January 31. Post time is 1 p.m.
