The trotters in the second race at Buffalo Raceway sure did put on a show Friday night (January 23) and when the dust settled, 13-year-old Nineanddivine (Frank Milby) took a nose victory and returned a whopping $186.00 to win.
The top four finishers were all within a head of each other in the end and the entire field of eight were just three lengths apart at the wire.
Tremendous Hit (Shawn Gray) was in command through three-quarters of the mile but said good night at the top of the stretch. Trotters then started coming from everywhere in the lane and Nineanddivine, sitting seventh in the drive for the finish, rallied and nosed out 13-1 shot Chrome Finish (Ray Fisher Jr.) for the victory in 2:02.3. Ryans Caviar (Jim McNeight), an 18-1 shot, was a head back to take third.
The $2 exacta of 8-6 returned $2,131 and the 50-cent trifecta of 8-6-5 was worth $6,228.
Nineanddivine is owned by Todd Santoro and is trained by Gary Gibson.
Racing will resume on Saturday night with another 13-race card scheduled.
