Delivered From Zin got back on the winning trail in the $30,000 Preferred pace while Broadies Song wins first for new owners in $30,000 Delaware Special paces on Monday over a ‘sloppy’ track at Dover Downs
Corey Callahan moved Howard Taylor’s Delivered From Zin out on the backstretch and quickly got to the front before the final turn en route to a convincing 1:50.4 triumph in this week’s Preferred edition. Kiss My Art came on for Ron Pierce to take second in front of Jeremys Successor and Sean Bier in the select field of six. The win was the second for driver Corey Callahan and trainer Dylan Davis. Delivered From Zin now has won $451,754 lifetime.
After finishing third in his first start since arriving from Canada, Broadies Song was second last week and with David Miller in the bike the altered son of Camluck-Hawaiian Dancer trained and co-owned by Josh Green with Paper Chase and Dorothy Parker, scored his first win on this side of the border recording a 1:51.3 victory capping off the event with a :27.2 final panel to best Catchmecullen A (Tim Curtin), second and Nova Artist (Allan Davis), third. The win extends Broadies Song’s career bankroll to $319,940.
Frank Bellino’s Southwestern Dream dropped down from the Preferred ranks to notch a strong 1:53.4 victory in the $23,000 Open pace. David Miller drove the Bruce Saunders conditioned gelded son of Cambest-Lady Of Art outlasting Dirty Devil (Matt Kakaley) rolling down the passing lane to nip Fancyfreeshark (Jon Roberts) for second-place honours. Southwestern Dream has now earned $790,594 lifetime.
Corey Callahan finished the day with three winners to advance his meet total to 143 winning drives.
