Open Victory For Lil Dude Starrbuck

Track record holder Lil Dude Starrbuck converted a pocket trip into his first win of the 2010 season Friday night in the $13,000 Open Pace at Fraser Downs

Trainer/driver Scott Knight and the nine-year-old son of Threefold-Almahurst Irish, who was sent postward at odds of 7-1, filled the pocket in behind Storyeum (John Abbott) while a parked out Ridgeline (Mike Hennessy) eventually settled back in third.

Lil Dude Starrbuck tracked the leader through stations of :26.3, :55.2 and 1:23.4 before pulling the pocket and sailing past in the stretch for a three-quarter length score in 1:53.1.

Ridgeline, a part of the favoured Ed Hensley entry, finished second over the winner’s stablemate, Lilsharkshooter (Jim Marino).

Lil Dude Starrbuck picked up his 34th career win tonight and lifted his bankroll to $530,994 for Lil Dude Ranch of Surrey, B.C.
