Driver Marc St Louis launched Ideal Toy to the top from post seven and never lost sight of the lead when taking the $8,200 featured pace on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Ideal Toy took control from rail-starter Perfect Glory with Woodmere Wyldstyle sitting third to a :30 opening quarter. Woodmere Wyldstyle, sent the 2-1 favourite, soon angled first over and stalked the pacesetter past a 1:01 half and a 1:29.3 third quarter. However the public choice stalled through the stretch as Ideal Toy strolled to a 1:59.3 victory by a length and three quarters over Perfect Glory.

A five-year-old mare by Western Ideal, Ideal Toy won her ninth race from 57 starts, earning $36,374. Danielle Neil owns and trains the $14.70 winner.
