Woodstock-Area Fire Claims Horse

A serious barn fire outside of Woodstock, Ont. has claimed the life of one horse.

A report on the matter by CTV Kitchener explains that the deadly blaze took place during the morning hours of Saturday (January 17).

While three other equine that were in the barn were saved, one horse did lose its life.

The report by CTV Kitchener’s Alexandra Pinto states that the fire broke out at roughly 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and that the flames and smoke was substantial.

Ontario Provincial Police Constable Lisa Narancsik was quoted as saying that “Pretty much the entire building was demolished as a result of the fire.”

Neighbour Chris Riach stated that the blaze was substantial. “I could see the black smoke and flames billowing out of the end of the neighbour’s barn,” he said.

The report states that the police do not believe that the cause of the fire was suspicious.
