Tim Tetrick had to use Tough Mac hard leaving from the outside before getting the lead at the quarter then led the way to a 1:54.2 victory in the $20,000 Open Handicap Trot at Dover Downs, Wednesday Jan. 19. Tetrick completed the day with six wins.
Trainer Dylan Davis picked up his consecutive second win on the card when Mike Casalino’s Tough Mac returned to winning form in his second start of 2016. Tough Mac is an altered son of Lockkeeper-Traditional Lady, who won for the 22nd time in his career during which he has banked $276,842 in purses. War Cry Hall (Ross Wolfenden) challenged strongly on the backstretch and held on for second. Panamanian Hanover (Tony Morgan) got up for third.
Tetrick also won with Davis trainee Little Ms Chrissy and scored victories with Marion Mentor for Susan Columbo, Maximum Terror for Ben Stafford, Master Builder for Leigh Raymer, and Kolbees Star for Joe Holloway.
Dedis Dragon, Simons Artist and Allstar Preview meet in an eight-horse field in the Thursday feature race.
