After switching up tactics his last two starts, Rollwithhottytoddy will try to make it three straight wins in the afternoon feature on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Trainer Trevor Hicken has been undefeated so far since the calendar switched to 2024 with a perfect four-for-four record during the first two cards of the year. Myles Heffernan Sr. will be back in the bike behind Rollwithhottytoddy from post six in the $3,600 Saturday afternoon Preferred Pace, carded as Race 12. Hicken also owns the 16-time winning son of Rollwithitharry as the pacer boasts more than $87,000 in career earnings.
Burn Out Hanover (Brady Sweet) has rail control for Red Shores Charlottetown's leading trainer Jeff Holmes. Mr Rielly (Corey MacPherson) lines up in post two with Mantario (Damian MacLellan) leaving from post three for trainer Jennifer Doyle. Laughagain Hanover holds downs post four for trainer-driver Jason Hughes while Blood Money (David Dowling) rounds out the field with post five for trainer Ron Matheson.
The Post Time Picks like Rollwithhottytoddy in the win position: “Rollwithhottytoddy is coming into this race off back-to-back wins. He won on the front-end two starts back and converted from a pocket trip to win last week. I think he goes back to the front today and wires the field.”
Race 6 is the Rotary Radio Bingo Volunteers Pace with Judicial installed as the morning line favourite. Judical starts from post three for the father-son duo of trainer Harold Shepherd and driver Patrick Shepherd. The elder Shepherd shares ownership of the son of A Rocknroll Dance with Maurica McCabe, Wayne MacPherson and Angus Birt. Other top entries include Woodmere Xspeedia (Ken Murphy) and Dukeofthewest (Hughes).
