Scuola Hanover ($7.40) impressively won Wednesday night's (Jan. 19) $20,000 Mares Winners Over/Select Pace at Dover Downs.
Sunny Dee left alertly to clear Moments Of Joy before yielding to Scuola Hanover just beyond a :27 first quarter. The seven-year-old A Rocknroll Dance mare cruised through a :56.1 half before turning on the burners up the backstretch, blasting a :27.1 third quarter before drawing off to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:51 in line to Art Stafford Jr. Sunny Dee (George Napolitano Jr.) finished second; Moments Of Joy (Victor Kirby) was third.
Trainer Andrew Stafford co-owns Scuola Hanover with Art Stafford and Thomas Ireland.
Tim Tetrick won three races on the card.
Thursday's (Jan. 20) card features a $28,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace and a Pick-5 carryover of $1,670. First post is 4:30 p.m.
