Just twenty-four hours removed from Corey Callahan’s seven-win performance at Dover Downs, Ron Pierce made his way to the Delaware oval
and clicked for six victories.
Pierce’s clinic on Monday’s 15-race program began with Matties Character (1:55) in Race 3. He enjoyed a natural hat trick thanks to wins with Casimir Bad Boy (1:53), Domitian Hanover (1:50.2) and Cullens Blue Jean (1:52.3) in Races 9-11.
He went on to post back-to-back wins with Hay Goodlooking (1:51.4) and Shady Idea (1:53.2) in Races 13 and 14, thus finishing the program with a six-pack of scores.
The Hall of Famer who hails from Clarksburg, New Jersey has picked up 35 wins this season after finding his way to victory lane 394 times last season. A career winner of 7,224 races, Pierce has sat behind the winners of purses exceeding $161 million to date.
