Power And Grace lived up to her namesake as she dominated with ease in the $13,000 Preferred Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday evening (Jan. 17).

Brett MacDonald powered the Ronald MacDonald trainee off the gate from post position two to grab the early lead. After a :29.3 opening panel, Power And Grace used a :31 second quarter breather to get to the half in 1:00.3. Feeling pressure from an outside challenge of favoured Andy Over (Ed Hensley), Power And Grace dug in to a :29.1 third quarter, reaching the three-quarters in 1:29.4. Around the final turn, the mare pressed forward to win by a comfortable three lengths in 2:01. Heavy Dude E (Ryan Desroche) finished second and Scene A Magician (Garrett Rooney) was third.

Power And Grace is an eight-year-old daughter of Holiday Road. Hartel Maintenance Inc. and Lormer McClure own the winner of 46 races and $394,894.
