Make it five straight wins for Vapor In The Wind ($5.40) at the Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park Saturday as the top pacer won the $16,000 Open Handicap for driver Kevin Wallis

.

Starting from Post 8 in the sixth race feature, Wallis wasted little time sending Vapor In The Wind after early pacesetter, Armbro Dynamic (Wally Hennessey), taking the lead away at the opening quarter mile in :27.

After the half mile in :55.2 it was Cape Karuna and driver Anthony Napolitano who started up first-over after Vapor In The Wind and pressed the leader to the three-quarter mile marker in 1:23.4. Then around the final turn and down the stretch Cape Karuna gave it his all but could not catch Vapor In The Wind who won by a head. Cape Karuna was a game second with Armbro Dynamic third in the photo finish.

It was the first start this year for Vapor In The Wind, a five-year-old gelded son of Cole Muffler. Dick Macomber trains Vapor In The Wind for the Tanah Merah Farms of Springfield, Illinois.
