Moreau Mares Fight To The Finish

Richard Moreau trainees Ms Mac N Cheese and Witch Dali engaged in a stretch duel with the former coming out on top in Friday's featured $30,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace at Woodbine Racetrack.

The stablemates were positioned 1-2 with the favoured Ms Mac N Cheese leading the way through fractions of :27.4, :57.4 and 1:27 before Witch Dali launched her attack in the stretch. The barn buddies battled to the wire, with Ms Mac N Cheese holding on to score the half-length victory in 1:55.2 over the 'good' track. She returned $4.60 to win.

Exhilarated took third prize finishing six lengths behind in the field reduced to five starters with L A Delight scratched due to weather. Request For Parole and Buttermilk Hanover completed the order of finish.

Louis-Philippe Roy drove Ms Mac N Cheese, who was a five-time winner with an income of $112,880 in 2017, for owner Ratchford Stable NS of North Sydney, N.S. The six-year-old Badlands Hanover mare notched her 23rd lifetime win and pushed her earnings over the $700,000 mark.
