It has been reported that a lawsuit was filed last month in regard to the December 2009 backstretch fire at Ohio's Lebanon Raceway which led to the death of two grooms and 43 standardbred racehorses.

An article by the Middletown Journal has stated that a trio of horse owners --- Stanley Crowe, Charles French and Mary Dawson --- is seeking roughly $500,000 for the loss of horses and equipment.

The lawsuit, which was filed by attorney Dave Ernst, has named the county, Lebanon Raceway Entertainment, the bank, the horseman’s association and others as liable.
