Camaes Fellow was a repeat winner in the $34,000 Preferred Pace at Woodbine Racetrack, going wire-to-wire in the Saturday night feature once again.
Driver Jonathan Drury sent the odds-on favourite to the lead from post six and cruised through fractions of :27.2, :57 and 1:25 en route to the three-length victory in 1:53 flat. Nickle Bag (Trevor Henry) used his patented late-closing tactics to rally home from third over for the runner-up honours. Machal Jordan (Roger Mayotte) was flushed first up from third approaching the final turn and finished third.
Camaes Fellow has now won three races in a row and a total of 28 lifetime with earnings climbing to more than $920,000.
Trainer Carmen Auciello shares ownership of the seven-year-old Mach Three gelding with Stephen Klunowski of North York, Ont. after claiming him last October for $50,000. He's since earned over $95,000 for his current connections.
Camaes Fellow paid $4.90 to win.
Auciello and Drury also joined forces to win with Oceanview Bindi ($10.30) and Electrify ($38.30).
Joe Cirasuola had a training triple during the 11-race card as well, scoring a pair of wins with birthday boy James MacDonald, including upsetter Four Boys ($47) and I Scott Sam ($7.50), and another with the Kody Massey-driven E W Fisher.
